In 1991 Gary Rounsavall was a young graduate student at Dallas Theological seminary. He was engaged to his wife, Joy, who was attending Oklahoma Baptist University at the time. While praying about how God wanted them to invest their lives, Gary and Joy believed that God was leading them to plant a church that would make disciples, make disciples that would plant churches, and plant churches to reach our world.
In October 1993 Gary and Joy packed up everything they owned into a Ryder van and moved from Dallas, Texas, to Fairfield, California. The first 11 months were spent building a core group of people who would launch Solano Valley Church.
In September of 1994 Solano Valley Church held their first public worship service at B. Gale Wilson Elementary, where they met for the next nine years. In August of 2003 Solano Valley moved to their current location at 1307 Oliver Rd. Through the years they have partnered with Venture Church Network and Iglesias del Oeste in planting churches in northern California and Mexico.
The Solano Valley Church dream is to lead as many people to Christ as we can in our community, while also leading these people to maturity in Christ and living the mission of Christ. We also want to partner with Venture Church Network and Iglesias del Oeste to plant 20 or more churches in Northern California and Mexico over the next ten years.
