We believe that there is a lot more to being a Christian than just believing the right “stuff” about God and the Bible. However, what we believe is still very important and must be based upon the clear teaching of God’s word—the Bible. The following is our Statement of Faith.
THE WORD OF GOD
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God’s will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak. We also believe that the Scriptures were written for our practical instruction. (Psalm 19:7-11; Isaiah 40:8; Matthew 5:18; 2 Timothy 3:15-17; 2 Peter 1:21)
THE TRINITY
We believe in one God, creator and sustainer of all things, eternally existing in the persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; that these are equal in every divine perfection and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (Genesis 1:26; Matthew 28:19-20; John 1:1, 14; 10:30)
GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. We believe He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Deuteronomy 6:4; John 14:13-14; Romans 5:8; 1 John 4:16)
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is God’s eternal Son, and has precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We believe further that He is fully God and fully man. We believe that He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. We also believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, and His personal, visible return from heaven. (John 1:1-14; Acts 1:11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Philippians 2:5-11; Hebrews 1:10; 4:14)
HOLY SPIRT
We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality, and His work in regeneration, sanctification, and preservation of the saints. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, and implement Christ’s work of redeeming the lost and empowering the believer for godly living and service. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells all believers, from the moment of salvation, but each believer is filled or empowered by the Holy Spirit only as each believer submits himself to God for obedience. We further believe that the Holy Spirit gives gifts to each individual believer as He desires for the edification of the Church. (John 3:3-7; 16:8-14; Acts 2:38-39; Romans 8:26; 1 Corinthians 12:4-7, 11; Ephesians 5:18)
ANGELS

We believe that angels are powerful spirit beings who are distinct from human beings. Some angels carry out the purposes of God while others (who sinned and fell from heaven) serve Satan, who is himself an angel. We also believe that one day God will judge the devil and His angels by condemning them to eternal torment. (Matthew 1:20; 2:13; 25:41; John 1:51; 2 Corinthians 11:14; 2 Peter 2:10-11; Revelation 20:10)
MAN
We believe God created man, male and female, in the image of God and free from sin. We further believe man is a sinner by nature and choice and is therefore spiritually dead. We also believe that those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:10-18, 23; 6:23; Titus 3:5)
SALVATION
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. We further believe that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, and was purchased by Christ on the cross, and is received by man through faith, apart from any human merit, works, or ritual. We further believe salvation results in righteous living, good works, and proper social concern. (John 6:35-40, 44; Romans 8:29-30; Ephesians 1:3-7; 2:8-10)
CHRISTIAN CONDUCT
We believe that the supreme task of every believer is to glorify God in his life; that his conduct should be blameless before the world; that he should be a faithful steward of his possessions; and that he should seek to realize for himself the full stature of maturity in Christ. (Romans 12:1-2; Colossians 2:6-7; 3:17; Titus 2:11-13)
THE CHURCH
We believe that the church is the spiritual body of which Christ is the head. We believe that the true Church is composed of all persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that this body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been baptized upon a credible confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, for spiritual formation, for evangelism, and for service. We believe the ordinances of the local church are believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper. We also believe in the interdependence of local churches and the mutual submission of believers to each other in love. (Matthew 16:18, 28:19-20; Acts 2:42-47; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Ephesians 4:1-15)
LAST THINGS
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the saved and the lost, the eternal existence of all men either in heaven or hell, in divine judgments, rewards, and punishments. (1 Corinthians 3:8-14; 15:20-28, 35-58; 2 Corinthians 5:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Timothy 4:8; Hebrews 9:27; 1 Peter 5:4; Revelation 20:11-15)
